An evening with Swimmers
Swimmers presents Patrick Mackie, Hannah Lowe, and Zinzi Clemmons, at The Function Room, Somers Town, for an evening of literature and the announcement of Pamphlet Issue 8.
As always, doors open at 7pm, readings will begin at 8pm.
Patrick Mackie lives in Gloucestershire. His books are Excerpts From The Memoirs Of A Fool (Carcanet, 2001) and The Further Adventures Of The Lives Of The Saints (CB Editions, 2016).
Hannah Lowe’s first poetry collection Chick (Bloodaxe, 2013) won the Michael Murphy Memorial Award for Best First Collection and was short-listed for the Forward, Aldeburgh and Seamus Heaney Best First Collection Prizes. In September 2014, she was named as one of 20 Next Generation poets. She has also published three chapbooks, and a memoir Long Time No See, which featured as a Radio 4 Book of the Week. Her latest poetry collection is Chan. She is a lecturer in Creative Writing at Brunel University.
Zinzi Clemmons was raised in Philadelphia by a South African mother and an American father. A graduate of Brown and Columbia Universities, her writing has appeared in Zoetrope: All-Story, The Paris Review Daily, Transition, and elsewhere. She is a cofounder and former publisher of Apogee Journal and a contributing editor to Literary Hub. Clemmons lives in Los Angeles with her husband, where she teaches at The Colburn Conservatory and Occidental College.
