Gosnells Mead Bar
In collaboration with Christopher Wong, STORE are fitting out a flexible bar space inside a working micro-brewery in Peckham. Working in close dialogue with the client, we developed a material palette based on by-products of honey and mead manufacture and readily available construction waste. A series of hinged collapsing tables and a mobile bar are laminated together from scrap chipboard, ply and softwood stripped out of the previous industrial unit. Surfaces are impregnated with pure beeswax from Southwark Cathedral’s hives. The bar interior is lit using gold-leafed honey buckets for shades.
