Warsaw 2012: Voids
The Warsaw Summer School in its second year explored the theme of ‘Voids’. In the first week the students reinterpreted the function of our chosen site – a disused factory – based on the evidence of the ‘voids’ which the building contained. These ideas were developed into architectural narratives which became the basis for the design of a large scale exhibition piece. In the second week the students learnt a number of building techniques and each fabricated their own architectural narratives. On completion of their individual projects, the students went on to curate the exhibition and to design and construct the centrepiece of the exhibition, a large indoor water fountain.
