Interpreting Manuals, Woodbridge School

Interpreting Manuals

1) The students were divided into two working groups. Each was asked to propose a new morning ritual to replace the school assembly, and asked to record their response graphically – i.e. no text, numerals, or conventional symbols. These become the MANUALS.

2) The two groups exchanged their manuals and were asked to build a structure which houses or facilitates the new assembly ritual shown in the manual.

3) The two groups were then asked to bring their structures together to house the two actions they mapped out earlier.
