Workshop – Westminster Harris Academy
The Westminster workshop was a collaborative storytelling, imagining act to construct a site with layers of the fictional and the real. At the end of the day, the students had a site model of the stories of Greenwich, the River Thames in 1-1000 scale.
The students acted the workshop as a kind of a performance, the day started with us bringing in two black boxes (Box Nr.1, Box Nr.2) to the art room. The puzzle pieces were unfolded from wrapping papers and materials sorted with certain dividers. The students sought for clues to find out the site from the map. The deck of cards portrayed the site – Greenwich, by its historical facts, myths, drawings, photos and the found objects of the River Thames. At the end of the day, we exchanged the contents of the Box nr. 1 with Polaroid records of the day.
