In the workshop Interpreting Manuals, the students are divided into two working groups. Each group is asked to propose a new morning ritual to replace the one of the school assembly. The groups are asked to record their response graphically, i.e. no text, numerals, or conventional symbols. These graphical responses become the working manuals for the rest of the workshop. The two groups exchange, manuals and are asked to build a structure which houses or facilitates the new assembly ritual shown in the manual.
